For as long as I can remember, I was in motion. Achieving, pushing, proving.
I lived by the belief that if I just worked harder, climbed higher, and played the game better—then I would finally feel fulfilled.
And for a while, it worked.
I built a career in the fast-paced, high-stakes world of media and entertainment—producing for BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, working alongside industry leaders, moving in spaces others only dreamed of. The energy was intoxicating. The validation was endless. The success was undeniable.
And yet… something was missing.
When Success Feels Like a Cage
No one ever tells you that success can start to feel like suffocation.
That after years of running on adrenaline, chasing bigger wins, and ticking every box on the should list, you can wake up one day and feel... empty.
For me, that moment came quietly. A whisper at first. A gnawing sense of misalignment.
I had the career, the status, the network—but I wasn’t free.
I ignored it. Pushed through. Because that’s what I was trained to do.
Instead of slowing down, I pivoted—seeking creative fulfillment, I launched a celebrated cake business, winning awards and attracting high-profile clientele. On the outside, it was another success story.
But inside? I was exhausted. Burned out. Overextended. Trapped in yet another cycle of doing more, achieving more—yet still feeling like something was missing.
Then came the moment that changed everything.
